The project that Access Technologies presented was developed for New Mexico Gas Company. This project was constructed to function as a security deterrent for a remote gas utility location in New Mexico. The station had repeatedly been subject to criminal trespassing and the company needed some kind of deterrent. They wanted a mechanism that would detect possible criminal intrusion and discourage further trespass.
The solution that Access Technologies designed and presented can detect motion within the whole interior of the perimeter fence line, and if a threat is detected, broadcast loud audio alerts coupled with powerful LED lighting flooding the area. This design leveraged two uncommon technical capabilities from Mobotix: first, the programming intelligence and collaborative capabilities of the camera platform itselF, and second, the camera's unique motion detection capabilities.
The Mobotix camera platform was at the center of the solution, however two other vendors’ products enabled the complete solution: Axton and Netgenium. Axton was used for their hybrid IR/LED lighting solution – the only solution currently of its kind in the world. Axton cameras are able to ‘see’ in the dark via the IR illumination of the light. When the camera detects motion, it is able to communicate with the Axton light to turn on the visible LED lighting from the same light chassis and effectively serve as a security deterrent.
Netgenium has a PoE powered IP speaker which is able to communicate with the Mobotix cameras dynamically via XML commands. When the cameras detect motion they tell the speaker at a specific IP address to play a predetermined audio file we had loaded onto the speaker.
As such, Access Technologies' solution provides powerful layered security – Protection, Detection, and Response.
